AI Assistant Startup Town Nabs Unicorn Valuation
San Francisco-based AI startup Town has reached a unicorn valuation just four months after its public launch, securing a $108 million Series B funding round co-led by Forerunner Ventures and Menlo Ventures.

Rapid Rise to Unicorn Status
San Francisco-based technology company Town has rapidly achieved unicorn status just four months after its public launch, according to a report by TechCrunch. The two-year-old artificial intelligence company announced a $108 million Series B funding round co-led by Forerunner Ventures and Menlo Ventures.
The startup stated that it reached millions of dollars in annual recurring revenue in a matter of weeks following its public introduction. With this latest injection of capital, Town has raised at least $160 million to date, having previously announced a $55 million Series A round in June.
Workplace AI Assistants
Founded by former Plaid CTO Jean-Denis Greze, Town is one of numerous companies developing conversational artificial intelligence tools for the modern workplace. The company's platform specifically targets businesses by providing each employee with a dedicated workplace assistant known as a Townie.
These virtual helpers assist workers with daily tasks by securely connecting to essential tools such as email clients, calendars, and other core business work systems. According to the company, individual employees' Townies are also capable of communicating with one another and sharing approved information across teams.
Expanded Capabilities and Shared Workflows
In addition to internal team communication, Town's platform now enables AI assistants to interact directly with customers and other external individuals outside of the company. Alongside its latest funding announcement, Town introduced a shared workflow feature designed to streamline administrative overhead.
The new feature automatically updates employees' Townies with fresh business information, eliminating the requirement for individual workers to manually update their own systems. This update aims to keep all organizational units aligned as companies scale their use of artificial intelligence.
Investor Backing and Industry Context
The $108 million Series B round drew participation from several prominent venture capital firms. Andreessen Horowitz, Serena Ventures, and First Round Capital also joined Forerunner Ventures and Menlo Ventures in supporting the financing round.
The massive funding event underscores intense ongoing financial interest in enterprise technology and workplace automation tools. As more businesses look to integrate automation into their daily routines, startups building enterprise productivity agents continue to capture significant market attention.
