Amazon Debuts Alexa Photo Frame and Echo Time Smart Clock
Amazon has expanded its hardware portfolio with five new devices, introducing the Alexa Photo Frame and Echo Time alongside major updates to the Echo Dot, Echo Studio, and Echo Show 16.

Introduction to New Echo Categories
Amazon has announced five new Alexa devices, highlighting two completely new product categories designed for the home: a digital photo display and a dedicated bedside clock. Among the new introductions, the Alexa Photo Frame marks the company's entry into the market of digital photo displays, following the popularity of brands like Aura in the growing category.
The second major introduction is the Echo Time, a smart alarm clock built specifically for the bedroom environment. According to Amazon, the device addresses the increasing consumer preference to reduce phone dependency for morning alarms, sleep routines, and checking the weather.
Alexa Photo Frame Features and Pricing
The Alexa Photo Frame features a 10-inch, semi-matte, anti-glare touchscreen designed to look like a traditional matte photograph rather than a standard bright digital screen. The display automatically adjusts its brightness according to ambient room light.
Integrated heavily with user accounts, the device provides Prime members with unlimited storage through Amazon Photos. Amazon states that its AI features intelligently curate the displayed images based on season, lighting, and smiling subjects while filtering out screenshots and receipts. The hardware is on sale now, starting at $199.99 for the Black model and $229 for Birch or Walnut wood variants.
Echo Time Bedside Clock
Designed for bedside use, the Echo Time costs $199.99, with a Kids version available for $209.99. It features opt-in sleep sensing tools that allow users to activate a smart alarm, waking them within a 10-to-60-minute window when lighter sleep phases are detected to ensure a less jarring morning routine.
Additionally, the clock incorporates sunrise simulation features to help ease users awake, providing an alternative to traditional smartphone-based alarms and existing wellness-oriented devices.

Upgraded Echo Dot and Echo Studio
Alongside the new hardware formats, Amazon updated several established product lines. The upgraded Echo Dot features a built-in smart home hub supporting the Matter standard and Thread, alongside an integrated Eero Wi-Fi extender capable of expanding network coverage by up to 1,000 square feet. Powered by Amazon’s AZ3 silicon chip, the device improves on-device processing for conversational AI interactions. The Echo Dot is available for $99.99.
Amazon also introduced the Echo Studio with Home Camera, priced at $249.99. This model integrates a camera for home monitoring via Live View and introduces visual intelligence capabilities, allowing the device to identify physical objects held in front of the lens and provide real-time assistance.
Echo Show 16 Updates
Rounding out the hardware announcements, the new Echo Show 16 incorporates a 16-inch display offering a 10% larger viewing area within a frame that is 40% smaller than its predecessor.
The device includes built-in Fire TV, smart home management tools such as the Family Organizer, and the capability to function as a digital photo frame. The Echo Show 16 is currently available for pre-order at $499.99.
