Final Cut Camera Updates and iPhone 18 Pro Support

Following the company's recent hardware announcements, Apple has released a new update to Final Cut Camera to fully leverage the capabilities of the newly announced device. Apple initially touted the hardware capabilities when it announced the phone earlier this month, making subsequent software integrations a natural progression for the ecosystem.

The updated Final Cut Camera app has been redesigned to accommodate all the new camera settings that the company surfaces on its Pro smartphones. Users can easily access controls like ISO and white balance, and clear the screen to view the clean viewfinder using a simple two-finger tap.

Because Final Cut Camera supports remote control capabilities via Final Cut Pro, users can adjust settings, including aperture changes, from a nearby iPad or Mac. Furthermore, when it comes to post-production, both Final Cut Pro and Motion now support editing the depth of field and focus points of footage captured on the iPhone 18 Pro.

New Features for Creator Studio Subscribers

Alongside the camera software updates, Apple is rolling out a collection of new features to Creator Studio apps for subscribers and non-subscribers alike. Subscribers gain access to a variety of fresh resources and advanced tools across multiple applications.

In Pages, Keynote, Numbers, and Pixelmator Pro, subscribers can access new templates and themes to help kickstart their projects. Keynote is also gaining an automatic image generation feature designed to match the content of an active presentation slide.

For users of the subscription-only iPad version of Pixelmator Pro, Apple is porting over the Select and Mask tools directly from the macOS version of the application.

Updates for Non-Subscribers Across Productivity Apps

Many of Apple's Creator Studio apps are simultaneously receiving new features that are accessible to non-subscribers. Applications such as Pages, Numbers, Keynote, and Freeform now allow users to request access to view or edit any shared file.

Specific apps are also receiving targeted functionality improvements. Pages now includes a Screen View option optimized for reading and focused writing, while Numbers adds support for new trigonometry, statistics, and logic functions.

Enhancements to Freeform and Apple Intelligence Integration

The Freeform application receives several notable upgrades in this rollout. Freeform boards can now automatically adapt based on whether the host device is operating in dark mode, and users can organize their boards into distinct collections.

Additionally, Freeform now offers full support for Apple Intelligence Writing Tools, letting users easily edit and generate text natively within their collaborative boards.

Availability and Hardware Requirements

All of these updates are rolling out to Apple's applications immediately, though access to certain capabilities remains contingent on specific hardware or subscription tiers. For instance, the advanced camera settings in Final Cut Camera require an iPhone 18 Pro, while specialized template access in Pixelmator Pro requires a Creator Studio subscription priced at $13 per month.
