AI Assistant Arrives in Productivity Suite

Apple is officially bringing [an AI assistant to its suite of productivity apps](https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2026/10/apple-creator-studio-adds-powerful-new-ai-features-and-even-more-creative-tools/), introducing advanced chatbot capabilities to Keynote, Pages, and Numbers. According to reporting by [The Verge](https://www.theverge.com/tech/1019373/apple-pages-keynote-numbers-ai-chatbot-update), the new assistant is constructed using a combination of AI models developed by Apple and OpenAI. Because it understands the broader context of a document, the system is designed to perform specialized functional tasks across each platform.

Keynote and Pages Enhancements

Within Keynote, the integrated AI assistant can comprehensively comprehend a presentation's context to execute tasks such as designing, animating, and refining individual slides. Meanwhile, Apple states that the AI tool in Pages can effectively draft, restructure, and fine-tune written content to match the user's requirements.

Numbers Data Organization and Protocol Support

For spreadsheet users, the assistant can calculate, visualize, and systematically organize data within Numbers. It can also offer intelligent suggestions for chart types and autonomously build custom tables based on the user's dataset. In addition, Keynote, Pages, and Numbers now implement support for the Model Context Protocol on macOS 27 or later, allowing third-party AI agents to connect directly into the applications.

System Requirements and Beta Rollout

The new AI assistant is currently rolling out in a beta phase specifically for devices that are compatible with Apple Intelligence. Users can utilize the functionality on hardware running iOS 27, iPadOS 27, or macOS 27 or later.

Updates to Pixelmator Pro, Logic Pro, and Final Cut Pro

Alongside the productivity app enhancements, several broader updates are heading to Apple's creative applications. Pixelmator Pro is introducing a new Generate Fill feature that enables users to edit specific portions of an image simply by describing the desired visual changes. Apple notes that this tool automatically matches the lighting, perspective, and texture of the surrounding environment to ensure the edits blend seamlessly.

At the same time, Logic Pro for Mac and iPad is receiving a Liquid Glass redesign alongside an AI assistant capable of setting up a vocal track from a single prompt and modifying existing projects. A redesigned Browser on Mac also utilizes on-device AI to automatically analyze, classify, and tag newly added audio sounds. Finally, Final Cut Pro is launching an update that integrates templates, graphics, titles, and transitions via MotionVFX, alongside a built-in Content Hub offering a comprehensive library of stock videos, photos, and backgrounds. These updates to Apple's Creator's Studio will be provided to existing subscribers at no additional charge in November.
