Meanwhile, GPT-6 Luna serves as a lightweight, cost-efficient model built for smaller, faster tasks, representing the lowest-cost option in the current GPT-6 family.

In GitHub Copilot, GPT-6 Sol is available to Copilot Pro+, Max, Business, and Enterprise plans, while GPT-6 Luna is available to Copilot Pro, Pro+, Max, Business, and Enterprise plans. Administrators managing Copilot Business and Enterprise plans can configure access using the model policy settings within Copilot.

Outside of GitHub, TechCrunch notes that the new versions of Sol and Luna are rolling out to ChatGPT Work and Codex for most paid accounts, as well as the ChatGPT API. Luna is also slated for availability within the desktop application and for Free and Go users, with a gradual rollout across the main ChatGPT app and website throughout the day.
