Modern Warfare 4 comes to the cloud

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is the headline addition to NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW service this week. According to NVIDIA, Activision and Infinity Ward’s latest entry arrives on the cloud gaming platform at launch, allowing members to stream its campaign, multiplayer modes and DMZ extraction gameplay on supported devices.

The campaign moves through several international settings, including Korea, New York, Paris and Mumbai. NVIDIA describes a story centered on Private Park, a young South Korean soldier entering live combat with his squad, alongside Captain Price, an operator-turned-outlaw pursuing revenge through covert missions as the conflict expands.

Multiplayer combines close-quarters combat with fluid movement, a dozen core 6v6 maps and battlefields shaped by the campaign’s global conflict. DMZ adds a high-stakes extraction layer in which players enter contested territory, recover valuable technology, complete objectives and decide when to leave. The mode also allows players to loot, fight, negotiate and betray opponents before attempting an extraction.

RTX 5080-class performance for Ultimate

NVIDIA says Ultimate members can play the campaign with ray tracing through newly added GeForce RTX 5080-class performance. The company says the capability is available across PCs, Macs, handhelds, mobile devices, browsers, supported TVs and other compatible hardware.

Because GeForce NOW handles game downloads and installations in the cloud, players do not need to prepare a local gaming rig for the service. The platform streams supported PC games that members already own or purchase through participating digital stores, while the underlying storage and update process remains in the cloud.

Fire TV purchases expand access

NVIDIA is also rolling out in-app GeForce NOW membership purchases to existing supported Fire TV Stick users. These customers can buy one-month Performance or Ultimate memberships directly through Amazon using an existing account, with transactions processed through Amazon’s billing system.

The company positions the change as a simpler route from setup to streaming on a television. With a Fire TV Stick, the GeForce NOW app and a compatible membership, users can stream supported games to the living room without relying on a conventional local gaming PC. NVIDIA says the service supports titles from stores including Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Connect, Xbox PC Game Pass, GOG and EA.

FINAL FANTASY joins the weekly lineup

Square Enix’s FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE is another major addition arriving on GeForce NOW this week. The game uses cinematic pixel art and strategic battles, sending players on a journey with companions bound by fate while they investigate a force threatening to destroy the world.

Players can strengthen their party with Visions of familiar FINAL FANTASY characters, exploit enemy weaknesses and break defenses to gain extra turns. The combat system includes powerful Resonance attacks, while airships, crystals, espers and moogles provide recognizable elements within the game’s new setting.

ESO adds Echoes of Skyrim content

The Elder Scrolls Online’s second season, Echoes of Skyrim, launched Wednesday, Oct. 21, and is available to stream through GeForce NOW. NVIDIA says the season gives everyone who owns the ESO Standard Edition access to its Skyrim content and the Antiquities treasure-hunting system.

The Markarth downloadable content is scheduled to follow Monday, Nov. 9, adding two classic zones to the season’s content. Echoes of Skyrim also introduces Solo Dungeons, with Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifices redesigned and rebalanced for players who want to tackle challenges originally built for groups.

NVIDIA lists six games joining the GeForce NOW library this week. Alongside FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, the lineup includes We Were Here Tomorrow and Planet Zoo 2. The company notes that store release dates and GeForce NOW availability may differ because titles are onboarded after release and added throughout the week.

More ways to try the service

NVIDIA says prospective users can test its higher-performance cloud gaming tiers with a day pass before committing to a monthly membership. The cost of the day pass can be applied toward a first monthly membership, according to the company.
