Gears of War: E-Day Launches on GeForce NOW

Gears of War: E-Day Leads Cloud Releases

The latest installment in the iconic franchise, Gears of War: E-Day, has officially arrived on GeForce NOW following its global release on Tuesday, October 6. Set 14 years before the events of the original title, the prequel explores the origins of the legendary partnership between Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago as they face the terrifying debut of the Locust Horde on Emergence Day.

Ultimate tier members streaming through the cloud can experience the brutal combat and larger-than-life action backed by GeForce RTX 5080-class performance. Players can further enhance their sessions using advanced graphics and responsiveness technologies such as NVIDIA DLSS and NVIDIA Reflex.

Accessibility and Platform Expansion

Gamers can access the title and other platform library additions across a wide range of devices, including low-power laptops, Macs, mobile devices, handhelds, and web browsers like Firefox. This setup allows users to dive straight into campaign missions as well as cooperative and competitive modes without requiring expensive hardware or massive file downloads.

In addition to hardware compatibility, a new purchasing option is on the horizon. Fire TV users will soon be able to purchase GeForce NOW memberships directly through Amazon, creating a streamlined path from device setup to active gameplay. NVIDIA notes that this functionality will roll out in the coming weeks.

New Games Joining the Library

This week's GFN Thursday update serves up a total of 10 games, which includes seven new releases. Among them, the Xbox version of Gears of War: E-Day is also accessible via Game Pass. Alongside the headliner, the platform welcomes STAR WARS: Galactic Racer, Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival, and Order of the Sinking Star.

While new titles deploy on their respective store schedules, onboarding onto the cloud platform occurs throughout the week. Meanwhile, NVIDIA noted that the Xbox version of Dune: Awakening did not join the service in September as previously anticipated, with future availability updates slated for upcoming GFN Thursday announcements.

Trying Out Cloud Performance

For gamers interested in evaluating high-performance cloud gaming before committing to a recurring subscription, day passes remain available. NVIDIA permits users to apply the cost of an initial day pass toward their first monthly membership, making it straightforward to test out RTX-powered streaming on the latest releases before upgrading for extended play.
