Cloudflare Expands Access to Enterprise Features for All

A year after pledging to eliminate a two-tier product system, Cloudflare is bringing advanced enterprise tools like Logpush and multi-account governance to all account levels.

Cloudflare Expands Access to Enterprise Features for All

Progress on Eliminating the Two-Tier System

A year ago, Cloudflare CTO Dane Knecht announced the company's intention to make every Cloudflare feature available to everyone. Originally, Cloudflare established an Enterprise tier to accommodate larger customers requiring procurement options beyond standard credit card payments, such as invoices, custom contracts, and dedicated support. Over time, however, a two-tier system evolved where advanced capabilities were restricted solely to Enterprise users.

Cloudflare notes that teams of every size, ranging from Fortune 100 enterprises to individual developers and open-source projects, now utilize its platform. Under its current product philosophy, the company aims to build capabilities suitable for its most demanding customers while simultaneously making those features accessible to users of all sizes, ensuring that products remain easy to buy, configure, and consume.

Logpush and Transformers Open to All Customers

As part of the recent update, flexibility regarding log delivery and formatting has expanded from Enterprise-only to all customers. Logpush delivers Cloudflare logs to designated storage, security, and analytics destinations, assisting customers in monitoring traffic, investigating issues, and analyzing data through their existing toolsets. Previously restricted to Enterprise clients, Logpush is now accessible to Free, Pro, and Business tier customers using self-service, pay-as-you-go pricing.

Alongside Logpush, Transformers is also becoming generally available to all platform users. Transformers allows customers to leverage SQL to filter out unnecessary records, redact sensitive information, enrich events, and reformat logs prior to delivery without the need to operate a separate extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) pipeline. Additionally, Custom Dashboards, which allow users to create personalized views highlighting critical metrics, are now available across all tiers.

Role-Based Access Control and Multi-Account Governance

Over the past year, Cloudflare has significantly broadened the availability of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) across its platform products for all customer tiers. Nearly all products now feature RBAC roles at both the account and zone levels. Workers recently joined R2 and Access in supporting RBAC roles at the individual resource level, allowing administrators to grant specific permissions for individual Workers.

To address the management needs of customers maintaining hundreds or thousands of zones, workers, and storage products, Cloudflare has introduced new tools for multi-account governance. The platform recently launched a new dashboard button enabling users to directly create additional free accounts. This feature allows users to easily segment open-source projects or divide work among multiple internal teams with independent billing.

Organizations and Future Rollouts

For managing multiple accounts, Cloudflare developed Organizations, a feature that groups accounts together under a single analytics and shared configuration surface. The capability is currently in beta for Enterprise customers, scheduled for general availability in October, and planned for a rollout to free accounts by early 2027. Organizations provide shared administrators with unified analytics, audit logging, and shared configurations for WAF, Gateway, and Access IdP.

Eligible Enterprise customers can set up an organization directly provided they are a super administrator of at least one account and no other organization has been created. Cloudflare emphasizes that these management updates are designed to scale smoothly while maintaining rigorous administrative boundaries and safeguards against fraud and platform abuse.
