IT Vendor Lists $60M AI Supercomputer on eBay
An IT vendor has listed a massive 300-rack artificial intelligence supercomputer on eBay for nearly $60 million, complete with thousands of enterprise-grade processors and accelerators.

A Multi-Million Dollar Supercomputer Listing on eBay
In an unusual turn of events for enterprise hardware sales, IT vendor Core 4 Solutions has listed a massive 300-rack AI supercomputer on eBay for $59.7 million. As reported by Tom's Hardware, the unconventional online listing offers buyers a chance to acquire a fully assembled data center-grade cluster without navigating standard enterprise sales channels.
While listing multi-million dollar computing infrastructure on a consumer auction platform sounds absurd, it reflects the intense demand for high-performance computing hardware in today's AI-driven market. Brokers have previously sold massive luxury items like a 405-foot gigayacht on eBay, demonstrating that high-value transactions on the platform are not entirely unprecedented.

Hardware Specifications and Core Architecture
The scale of the hardware included in the 300-rack cluster is staggering. The system packs 9,600 Nvidia A100 accelerators alongside 4,200 AMD EPYC Rome 64-core processors. While newer architectures like Blackwell and Turin have entered the market, the older generation components remain highly relevant for machine learning, artificial intelligence workloads, and complex scientific research.
Examining the detailed rack architecture reveals that each rack contains four compute nodes and three management nodes. Each compute node is outfitted with two AMD EPYC Rome processors, eight Nvidia A100 40GB SXM4 accelerators, and 1TB of DDR4-2933 memory. Meanwhile, the management nodes feature two EPYC 64-core chips and 192GB of DDR4 memory.
In total, the cluster delivers 268,800 execution cores derived from the 64 Zen 2 execution cores per chip across all 4,200 AMD EPYC Rome processors. Memory capacity across the entire system reaches approximately 1,401.6 terabytes, or 1.4 petabytes, supported by additional hardware components including Nvidia Mellanox ConnectX-6 SmartNICs, power supplies, and dedicated cooling configurations.
Valuation and Budget Alternatives for Enterprises
Carrying a price tag of $59.7 million, the cluster represents a major capital investment, yet market analysts note it functions as a practical budget alternative to modern deployments. Brand new enterprise racks utilizing Nvidia's newer architectures can cost millions of units individually, often carrying extended waitlists and significant supply chain delays.
A rough valuation breakdown of the components indicates that the Nvidia A100 units account for roughly $24 million, the AMD EPYC Rome chips represent about $3 million, and the DDR4 memory contributes approximately $1.1 million. This accounts for roughly $28.1 million in core components alone, before factoring in the cost of server chassis, networking gear, racks, and infrastructure support.

Logistics and Humorous Shipping Options
Transporting 300 server racks presents a major logistical hurdle. However, the eBay listing includes humorous shipping choices provided by Core 4 Solutions, ranging from free local pickup and FedEx Ground delivery to a $25 two-day shipping option and a $50 overnight delivery choice.
Despite the daunting logistics, the listing has already captured the attention of prospective buyers. Reports indicate that at least 11 people are watching the item, with at least one interested buyer keeping the multi-million dollar supercomputer sitting directly in their online shopping cart.
