Event Kickoff and Market Context
The October 2026 Amazon Prime Big Deal Days event has officially launched, bringing live coverage of discounts on PC hardware, components, and peripherals. According to Tom's Hardware, building or upgrading a rig has grown increasingly difficult due to significant price rises on key components, with market pressures driving up the costs of essential hardware.
The ongoing AI craze has heavily impacted the computer hardware market, sending prices through the roof. Current market conditions mean that 32GB of RAM now runs at least $400, while a standard 1TB SSD sets buyers back at least $150. Graphics cards have also experienced notable price jumps, forcing builders to seek out worthwhile savings to manage overall project costs.
Curated Hardware and Component Deals
Despite broader market hikes, experts are tracking viable discounts across various component categories, including CPUs, GPUs, RAM, and storage drives. For storage upgrades, the 9100 Pro SSD provides Gen 5 speeds reaching up to 14,700MB/s while positioning itself just slightly above slower legacy drive pricing. Meanwhile, budget-conscious builders can access significant savings on memory kits by utilizing specific promotional discount codes at checkout.
For system maintenance and custom desktop builds, supplementary equipment like multi-piece electric screwdrivers and external power button accessories are also being featured. These tools aim to assist builders managing custom PC assemblies during the October shopping window.
Laptops and Prebuilt System Promotions
Beyond individual components, shoppers looking for mobile gaming systems can find early reductions on entry-level hardware. International discounts include price cuts on Alienware laptops equipped with Intel Raptor Lake processors, RTX 5050 mobile graphics units, and high-refresh-rate displays tailored for portable work and gaming sessions.
Additional configurations featuring Intel Core processors and dedicated graphics are appearing across major online storefronts. These systems cater to users seeking starter configurations or portable options without investing in ultra-tier desktop setups.
Membership Requirements and Rival Sales
Because Amazon's event is an exclusive Prime promotion, shoppers must hold an active subscription to access the featured discounts. Users who do not currently subscribe can utilize an Amazon Prime Free Trial to gain temporary entry into the sales event and secure promotional pricing.
In addition to Amazon's core listings, live coverage spans competing online marketplaces hosting simultaneous promotional events. Retailers such as Newegg, Walmart, and Best Buy are running parallel discounts, giving consumers multiple avenues to compare hardware prices.
