Exhibition Overview and Cultural Collaboration

Samsung Electronics has announced the presentation of its "Design is an Act of Love" exhibition at Seoul Design Week 2026, taking place in Seoul, Korea. Building on a previous theme explored with Korean artists in September, this latest iteration is held in collaboration with POLI.design and features emerging Italian artists.

The exhibition highlights creative expressions shaped by different cultures and experiences. Through these works, Samsung Design aims to celebrate human diversity and individuality while sharing a design vision rooted in understanding and caring for people.

Artistic Vision and AI Integration

The 14 featured artworks draw inspiration from a broad range of Samsung hardware, spanning mobile devices, home appliances, and televisions—including the Music Studio 5, Bespoke AI Family Hub, and Galaxy Z Fold8. Participating artists drew upon their own experiences and imagination to reinterpret the forms and characteristics of these products.

To develop their ideas and explore new forms of expression, the artists utilized artificial intelligence as a tool. Each resulting piece remains firmly grounded in the creator's distinct perspective and creativity, transforming familiar electronics into fresh expressions of personality and lifestyle.

Highlighted Works by Participating Artists

Among the featured pieces, multidisciplinary artist Tommy Tokyo—whose practice spans virtual reality, animation, and digital media—created an artwork inspired by the Infinite AI air purifier. The resulting visual narrative translates the product's core concept of clean air into an expressive format.

Additionally, Caffè Design drew inspiration from the iconic I-shaped silhouette of The Serif TV. Their work explores how the television's distinctive design interacts with and influences the surrounding spatial environment.

OLED TV Hardware and Custom Framing

The exhibition's digital artworks are displayed across 14 units of the OLED S95H television model. Each display is fitted with a custom frame specifically designed to complement the colors and mood of its corresponding artwork.

These custom enclosures work in tandem with the on-screen imagery to enhance presentation. Furthermore, the television's Float Layer Design causes the screen to appear as though it is floating above a metal plate, amplifying the character of each displayed piece.

Leadership Perspectives and Event Schedule

Mauro Porcini, President and Chief Design Officer of the Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics, emphasized the overarching objective of the showcase.

"Through the eyes of different creative minds, familiar products become new expressions of personality, perspective, and ways of life," Porcini stated, noting that the goal is to move beyond designing technology for people to crafting technology that truly reflects them.

Visitors can view the complete collection under the exhibition theme Design is an Act of Love at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul, where the event runs from October 15 through October 25.
