Samsung Hosts Silicon Valley Future Wireless Summit 2026

Convening Telecommunications Leaders in Mountain View

Samsung Electronics announced the gathering of global telecommunications industry partners at the Samsung Research America campus in Mountain View, California, for the Silicon Valley Future Wireless Summit 2026 on October 15, following a Partner Day held at the same venue the prior day. The events drew more than 100 telecommunications experts from major global operators, equipment manufacturers, government agencies, and academia to exchange insights and explore the future of next-generation networks.

The discussions focused on the evolution of software-driven networks designed for the AI and 6G eras, highlighting ecosystem-wide collaboration aimed at creating new value across the broader telecommunications industry. Samsung showcased its ongoing leadership in next-generation communication technology, sharing key achievements in applying AI-native capabilities directly to its communication systems.

Partner Day and Strategic Network Evolution

Partner Day provided a platform for engaging discussions grounded in the expertise of leaders from across the telecommunications landscape. Participants closely examined software-driven network strategies as the acceleration of AI and network convergence drives rapid changes in underlying network infrastructure. Samsung opened the event with a keynote address detailing how artificial intelligence is actively transforming architectural foundations that have defined telecommunications for more than a century.

Panel sessions during Partner Day centered on practical experiences and lessons learned from the commercialization of virtualized networks, exploring how the industry ecosystem can continue to evolve. Attendees also discussed methods to look beyond traditional connectivity by developing new services and translating them into tangible business opportunities.

Angelo Jeongho Park, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Strategic Sales for the Networks Business at Samsung Electronics, noted that networks in the AI era are evolving into intelligent infrastructure capable of understanding diverse requirements and flexibly adapting through virtualization. Park emphasized that Samsung and its industry partners have successfully commercialized virtualized networks at scale and intend to use advanced AI technologies to turn communications infrastructure into a new engine for growth.

AI-Driven Innovation and Summit Panel Sessions

The Silicon Valley Future Wireless Summit featured keynote presentations from telecommunications industry experts alongside three distinct panel sessions: AI-Native 6G Networks, Taking 6G to Space With NTN, and Connecting the Physical and Digital Worlds. Each session paired an introductory lecture with dynamic panel discussions to facilitate active exchanges among participants.

The AI-Native 6G Networks session positioned artificial intelligence as the primary technology driving performance enhancements and operational efficiency, focusing heavily on technical challenges and global collaboration. Meanwhile, the NTN session reviewed low Earth orbit satellite constellations, addressed technical barriers in space-based communication, and discussed ongoing standardization roadmaps within the 3rd Generation Partnership Project.

Concluding the formal sessions, the Connecting the Physical and Digital Worlds panel explored methods for delivering next-generation user experiences by sensing physical spaces and linking them to digital services, including Integrated Sensing and Communications and physical AI.

Technology Demonstrations and Joint Research Efforts

Alongside panel discussions, the event featured a dedicated technology demonstration session showcasing cutting-edge core technologies jointly developed and validated by Samsung and its partner ecosystem. Demonstrations included AI RAN implementations, eXtreme Multiple-Input Multiple-Output systems, Distributed MIMO technologies, and Integrated Sensing and Communications applications.

Jinguk Jeong, Executive Vice President and Head of the Advanced Communications Research Center at Samsung Research, stated that 6G and AI-native technologies represent the next critical step in telecommunications. Jeong noted that the summit underscores Samsung's dedication to working closely with industry partners to advance telecommunications research and development.

Expanding Global Partnerships and Future Outlook

The recent summit and Partner Day arrive as part of broader initiatives by Samsung to expand collaborations on 6G and AI-native communication technologies with global telecommunications operators, research institutes, and business groups. Throughout the year, Samsung has initiated collaborations with companies such as LG Uplus and conducted field validations with Verizon during a major international soccer fan event in Dallas, Texas.

Samsung continues to strengthen research partnerships with major international operators including NTT DOCOMO, KDDI Research, KT, SK Telecom, and SoftBank. By connecting its internal research strengths with industry business expertise, Samsung aims to translate ongoing technological innovation into long-term value for the telecommunications sector.
