Funding and Valuation

As the artificial intelligence boom continues to strain global computing capacity, chip giant Nvidia has backed Indian startup Simplismart in a $14 million funding round. The investment highlights growing interest in software solutions that help companies run AI models more efficiently and, in certain cases, with fewer GPUs.

The all-primary Series B round was led by Dallas Venture Capital, with participation from Nvidia alongside investors such as Accel, Shastra VC, and Micromax. According to the Bengaluru-based startup, the transaction values the four-year-old enterprise at approximately $100 million, inclusive of the new capital.

Technology and Infrastructure Optimization

Organizations frequently invest heavily in graphics processing units to power modern AI applications, yet running these models reliably and economically at scale remains a persistent challenge. Different workloads demand distinct trade-offs between speed, cost, and overall performance. Simplismart states that its software automates much of this operational burden, tailoring how models execute on existing infrastructure.

Positioned between the underlying computing infrastructure and the AI models themselves, Simplismart adjusts deployment configurations to meet individual business requirements. The platform optimizes metrics such as response latency, request volume capacity, and total power consumption, enabling companies to extract greater utility from their existing GPU stacks.

"Nobody actually needs the fastest or the cheapest inference," said Amritanshu Jain, co-founder and chief executive officer of Simplismart, in an interview. Instead, Jain noted that businesses require execution speeds and cost structures tailored to their specific operational use cases.

Products, Integrations, and Customer Adoption

Simplismart offers a platform allowing enterprises to deploy AI models either natively through its system or within their pre-existing cloud and on-premises environments. The software includes tools for model fine-tuning, automated compute scaling, performance monitoring, and serverless inference services for cloud providers.

The company counts various video-generation and enterprise startups among its clientele, reporting that it helped video platform InVideo reduce its GPU serving costs by 56%. Additionally, Indian cloud provider Yotta utilizes the startup's technology to operate serverless inference services within its Shakti Studio environment.

Alongside its financial participation, Nvidia is collaborating with Simplismart on technical integrations involving its Dynamo inference software. Engineering teams from both organizations are working together, and Nvidia has aided the startup by introducing it to potential enterprise customers and partners.

Market Position and Revenue Growth

The investment creates an interesting dynamic where Nvidia, the dominant supplier of AI hardware, backs software capable of reducing the number of GPUs required for certain workloads. However, Jain argues that driving efficiency in inference ultimately supports Nvidia's ecosystem by making hardware investments more attractive and accelerating broader AI adoption.

Operating in a crowded landscape of inference tools offered by major cloud hyperscalers and competing startups, Simplismart emphasizes strict adherence to service-level agreements and total cost of ownership. The company reported that its annualized revenue run rate expanded fourteenfold over a six-month period to an eight-figure sum, with the United States generating over half of its total revenue.

Company Background and Future Plans

Simplismart was founded in 2022 by Jain, a former Oracle engineer, and Devansh Ghatak, a former Google engineer. The co-founders met while studying at BITS Pilani and have grown the enterprise to a team of 58 employees.

The newly secured capital will be deployed toward expanding the startup's footprint in the United States, scaling its workforce, and advancing the development of its core inference software. Meanwhile, regarding recent media reports suggesting larger funding talks, Jain declined to comment, confirming that the Series B round has officially closed.
