Apple is expanding its smart home ecosystem with a new lineup of accessories developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. The products are designed to work through Apple Home without separate apps or accounts.

Apple introduces Home Collection smart home lineup

A broader Apple Home lineup

Apple has announced Apple Home Collection, a new range of smart home accessories created in collaboration with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. The lineup covers home monitoring, climate control, and entry management, bringing indoor and outdoor cameras, a video doorbell, a smart door lock, thermostats, and temperature sensors into the Apple Home ecosystem. The announcement was made on October 13, 2026, through the company’s official newsroom. Further details are available from Apple Newsroom in the original source material.

Apple says the new accessories are designed to be simple to set up, beginning with a single tap using an iPhone. Users can manage the products through the Apple Home app and Siri, without needing a separate app or account for each device. The company also says the accessories can operate independently or work together as a connected system.

The products build on Apple’s existing support for third-party accessories through Works with Apple Home and Matter. Apple describes the new range as a recommended set of products with a consistent design and an integrated experience across the home, rather than as a replacement for the wider selection of compatible accessories already available.

Privacy and home control

Privacy is a central part of Apple’s description of the collection. The company says data in the Home app is encrypted end-to-end, meaning Apple, LG Electronics, and Schneider Electric cannot read it. Apple also says users can control access to their home data by choosing which people can access it.

The new accessories are intended to be controlled through Apple Home and Siri, with the same management layer covering cameras, climate products, and the lock. Apple says the products feature a clean, minimal aesthetic and premium materials, with attention paid to how they mount, adjust, and look alongside Apple products in the home.

Apple’s announcement also identifies Apple HomeView, HomePod, HomePod mini, and Apple TV 4K as home hubs for the camera lineup. Camera video history is stored securely through a user’s supported iCloud+ plan, according to Apple, so the cameras do not require a separate camera subscription.

LG cameras target home monitoring

LG is supplying four cameras for the collection. Apple says each camera captures video at up to 2.5K resolution and can recognize people, familiar faces, pets, vehicles, and packages. The system is designed to give users a private way to check activity inside and outside the home when used with a supported home hub.

The LG Video Doorbell Wired uses dual cameras to capture separate views of visitors and packages. Users can switch between the front and bottom camera views, while a built-in spotlight and a chime that plays through HomeView, HomePod, and HomePod mini provide additional monitoring and notification features. The front camera records at 2.5K resolution, while the bottom camera records in full HD.

The LG Floodlight Cam is designed for perimeter monitoring. Its adaptive dual floodlights activate automatically when motion is detected, and its low-light color night vision is intended to preserve visibility in darker conditions. The LG Outdoor Cam also offers low-light color night vision and can be angled for flexible coverage, with self-installation described as straightforward.

The LG Indoor Cam takes a different approach to privacy. Apple says it automatically tilts upward and downward when household members check in on the home, then tilts back down to stop monitoring when the first member of the household returns. Users can also adjust the camera manually or through the Home app.

Thermostats, sensors, and a smart lock

The collection also adds products for managing temperature and access. LG’s Smart Thermostat is paired with an LG Temperature Sensor, while Schneider Electric is offering the Schneider Home Smart Thermostat and Schneider Home Room Sensor. Apple says the climate products are intended to help users manage comfort and energy use through Apple Home.

LG’s Smart Deadbolt Lock extends the collection beyond monitoring and climate control. Apple lists it as part of the new lineup for managing access to the home. As with the other accessories, the company says the lock can be controlled through the Apple Home app and Siri and can be used either on its own or as part of a connected setup.

Schneider Electric’s chief executive, Olivier Blum, described the Schneider Home Smart Thermostat as a collaboration with Apple focused on combining energy efficiency, everyday comfort, and simplicity. LG Electronics executive vice president Kihyun Jung said the company worked with Apple to create a more connected and convenient home experience. These statements are company claims included in Apple’s announcement.

European Union availability limitation

Apple says Apple HomeView will not be available for sale in the European Union because Siri AI is currently unavailable in iOS in the EU. The company says it is working constructively with the European Union in an attempt to find a path forward. The announcement does not provide a separate European launch date or pricing for the collection.

The company’s product support information and launch details will be available through its official channels. Customers considering the accessories will need to check regional availability, since Apple lists different markets for individual products and notes that some accessories will not arrive until early 2027.
